Quality Control Technician

Pay Range - $18/hr

We are actively seeing a Quality Control Technicians for one of our manufacturing clients.  This position is a full-time, temp-to-hire position, Monday through Friday operation.  Hours are approximated at 6am to 2:30pm.

A Quality Control Technician is expected to perform tests and inspections of products at various stages of the production process for compliance with specifications; and to evaluate  statistical data in order to determine and maintain the quality and reliability of clients products by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (others may be assigned)

  • Maintains quality control objectives according to standard operating procedures.
  • Performs inspection activities throughout the production cycle.
  • Sets up and performs destructive and nondestructive tests on materials, parts, or products to measure performance, life, or material characteristics, and records data.
  • Ability to accurately use various measuring tools, micrometer, caliper, etc.
  • Interprets specification, drawings, work orders, and standard operating procedures.
  • Analyzes and resolves problems.

Education and/or Experience:

High school diploma or graduate equivalency diploma (GED); six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills:

Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, and procedure manuals. Must have the ability to write routine correspondence as well as the ability to present information and speak effectively before groups of employees or management.

Mathematical Skills:

Must have the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure as well as the ability to interpret diagrams and compute specification ranges.

Reasoning Ability:

Must have the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exits. Must have the ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagrams, or schedule form.

Physical Demands:

Physical demands required are limited to those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is regularly required to sit and use hands to handle and maneuver the product in process. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and lift or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus.
