Machine Operator

Location: Amsterdam, NY 
Pay: $27.00-$35.00/hr DOE

Description: Perform tasks as part of a small production crew (2 to 4 people) in an assigned ultrasonic laminating work center to set up the laminating machine, run production, and thoroughly clean the work center to prepare for the next work order.

Multiple work centers are running at the same time. 

Tasks are varied and NOT high repetition, and may include:

• Stage and install various machine components and fixtures during machine setup.
• Mount large rolls of wide roll raw materials and thread through the machine.
• Input initial settings into machine controls and machine setting input screens.
• Monitor travel of raw and finished materials through the machine during production.
• Monitor quality of raw and finished materials during production.
• Place new raw material rolls and splice to end of prior raw material rolls.
• Cut product samples as required for Quality Assurance during production.
• Prep and dismount rolls of finished materials and package for readiness to ship.
• Disassemble machinery and fixtures and clean entire work center.
• With experience, serve as ¿lead¿ machine operator executing a work order.

Skills:

• Ability to read and understand written and photographic work instructions.
• Perform basic calculations equivalent to high school level mathematics.
• Recording data and information on work order control documents.
• Clear communication with work center team members, other company staff, and company management and leadership.
• Ability to physically walk around work center, perform individual and team lifts of materials and equipment, and stand for extended periods of time.
• Operation of forklift, overhead cranes, lift assist devices (eg.pallet jacks).

On the job training is provided for all tasks.

1st Shift (7:00am to 3:30pm), temporary 2nd Shift (3:30pm to 12:00am) possible.

Full time regular position, 40 hours per week, Monday ¿ Friday.

Must pass drug test and & fitness for duty exam after employment offer is made.
