Temp Jobs on the Rise

Those of us in the staffing industry have known for a while that temp jobs would be on the rise as the market got 'better.'  There are plenty of studies available to indicate that companies of varying sizes will utilize a temporary workforce to jump start, or take the intermittent space of long term workers.

Bloomberg recently put out this report that echoes this sentiment.  It provides several examples from not just one national agency, but several.  It won't be the same in every market, but overall the patterns and indicators are there.  We've seen first hand where several locally based businesses are mirroring these sentiments or increasing their staff levels hiring through temporary staffing agencies such as AccuStaff.

AccuStaff announces opening of new Malta, NY location

To Support Local Growth

Staffing Agency looks at 2012 to surpass company high records in 2011.

Malta, NY - January 19, 2012:  AccuStaff today announced the opening of its 3rd, full-time, Capital Region employment services office.  With continued growth throughout the region, AccuStaff is positioning itself to triangulate the market.

With additional offices in Albany and Johnstown, NY, AccuStaff has been listed among the highest in the Temporary Staffing Agency lists by the Business Review the last three consecutive years and aims to continue their long run of success as they open up a full-service office in the Town of Malta.

Since 1979, AccuStaff has been providing local businesses with temporary, temp-to-hire, and direct hire recruitment services. With the changes in the marketplace, our range of projects have evolved to include everything from basic administrative/office support  and light industrial positions to highly technical project management, business analysts, and beyond.

“Being a locally owned business, we wanted to be on the door step of future local growth.  As the business climate in Malta is changing minute by minute, we wanted to position ourselves to be where the growth is.  Our new location will allow us to dive even further into the local employment base within Saratoga County and the surrounding area and provide our client partners with great talent resources,” said Owner, Heather Rafferty.

Headquartered in Colonie, NY, AccuStaff is an affiliate of Randstad US, the 3rd largest staffing agency in North America, and 2nd largest worldwide. Randstad recently merged with Spherion Staffing (SFN Group) expanding its geographic coverage with an additional 560 locations in North America.  This brings unparalleled capabilities, intelligence and solutions to the U.S. market for both Randstad and the local AccuStaff offices.

Randstad Employee Confidence Index

Predictions are tough to manage, but with historical data, they can be very effective.  Keep in mind, these are predictions, and history hasn’t been written yet.  It seems from various reports that the Albany, NY area is doing better than most leaving some very encouraged.  For those without full-time work, it’s hard to ask them if they’re confident in what’s to come.  The proof will be in the pudding, as they say.  Here’s a link to a report from our affiliate Randstad.  It is pretty thorough and worth a read through to see where employees and employers are alike on a national scope.
